SSH Last failed login: How to Improve security ??

Hello i have a fresh Host Edition Installation and it was runing for about a week.
This is my second time i logged in to my server using SSH this week, and i noticed alarming message.

"Last failed login: Sun Jan 31 22:32:35 EST 2016 from xxx.xxx.142.71 on ssh:notty
There were 42278 failed login attempts since the last successful login."

Looks like there are a lot of hits on my server SSH port.

How can i increase the security to prevent hacking or someone trying to abuse my ssh...

Horde Active Sync does not work

Hi,

I just upgraded to a new server from 12.0.18 to 12.5 (PHP 5.5.9 by OS vendor as fastCGI).
Horde seems to run properly and all mails are migrated properly.
I tried to activate Active Sync according to the instructions given and added these lines to my http /https config:

   Allow from all

Hello fellas, i would like to know if i am the only one that has spam issue on server.

i have customer that receive 250 spam/day

yes, spf, drbls lists enable, dkim, spam assassin , blacklist (2k domains blocked), list of IPs blocked.

I set spam assassin filter 2 per email account and still getting a lot of msg...
yes, spam assassin is runing...

i dont know what to do to block them.

i assume that every one who uses plesk and connects email clients get an error "Mail can't verify the identity...." when connecting to plesk imap. Plesk Default ssl is used.

I use plesk 12.5 and i purchased Comodo SSL for the specific domain.

I assign that cert to the domain and have HTTPS connections.

However the Mail still goes to Default Plesk SSL?!.

I was under the impression that if i assign Validated SSL Cert to the Hosting all services should be using that assigned cert if...

For Ubuntu, There is an official upgrade way already:

So, for those who are using RHEL-distributions? And please in a 'good' way, keeping compatibility for future Plesk updates. So, not converting MariaDB to MySQL.

Without this, I can't install scripts that rely on new functions in 5.6. That's a big miss. And it is way too overdone for me to host a new node for the DB, for only one website.

My Magento 2 project needs to get on hold, forced....

After an default installation of Plesk 12 on my Debian 8 server, the domain is Unfortunately not recheable i've always the message 502 nginx bad gateway, do you have an idea what i can do, what why this is happen?

Quick Preview - Error 403 nginx

Hi!

Plesk 12.5 Pro Edition linux updated from 11.5, the quick preview dont work.
First, show message to enable nginx. Nginx is ok and enable, quick preview active first option (default).
When click in Preview website:

403 Forbidden
nginx

Any idea for fix the problem?

Hello,
I have some issues with the web preview feature. The preview is set as default quick preview, but it doesnt work. When Im trying to access it, I have a 403 forbidden error from nginx.

The url looks like that :

http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/plesk-site-preview/domain.tld/xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/

I tried to find an error in the logs of the vhost and in the main error log of nginx, but didnt found any.

SASL authentication failure

Hello,

Since 3 weeks, some customers can't retrieve their messages (Outlook / POP3) for one or two hours (
the window asking the user name and password is displayed)... and and then everything returns to normal use.
All is ok with server (Plesk 12.5 / Postfix). The only thing we see in the maillog file is :

Hello

Got this error on migration test
|E|MT|parallels|||Cause: Error while checking connection settings: 'Unable to login to the source server 'source' (xx.xx.xx.xx) SSH service due to incorrect login/password specified in config file.

configuration :
source :
Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS Plesk 12.0.18 # n° 77

target
‪Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS‬ Plesk 12.5.30 # n° 23

I log on my login "root" and psw "xxxx" but connection fail
(firewall configured for acception Target Ip)

Where I am Wrong ?

Plesk panel empty ? while sites are working

Hi, I'm using latest 12.5 build of plesk (Web Pro edition) on Debian 8.
Until now it was working like it should.

When I changed to Power User view, a got to the login screen, after login in as root, I'm seeing that everything is gone ? I'm getting like a first setup page :

I have 5 domains on this server, that are accessible without problems.
But the backend seems to be gone?
Is there anything I can do about it? should I restart Plesk to...

That pesky 502 bad gateway nginx error again :-(

Hi
I have an ongoing problem that is:

When I access plesk control panel as admin user it works fine, if I go to the control panel for particular domains, some of them work fine and for some I get the 502 error. After that I cannot access plesk at all - just get the same error until I start a fresh session.

The errors in var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log are ones like:
[error] 20661#0: *23 recv() failed (104: Connection reset by peer) while reading response header from upstream, client:...

That pesky 502 bad gateway nginx error again :-(

PHP pages no nolger load after 12.5.30 MU#23 update

After upgrading my Plesk VPS to 12.5.30 MU23. the PHP pages are no longer served by the PHP handler with the result of the browser asking which applications to use for opening the .php pages (see picture 1)

The current PHP engine is version 5.6.18 run as FPM Application served by Apache.

If I switch the PHP handler to either FastCGI Application served by Apache or FPM Application served by NGINX the php pages are handled correctly...

Hello,
Every day, Watchdog send me an email to advise that Plesk is failing and apparently restarts. How can I solve this problem?

The Plesk versión is 12.0.18 with the lastest update.
