Layer 7 DDos Protection

Hello,

I've been using "mod_evasive" and "mod_qos" modules for Apache2. But recently, they're not able to handle all the traffic for no reason: I saw attackers can open a page 100 times in a seconds. Some gets banned, some gets nothing.

So, I want to build a simple Layer 7 DDos protection. Such as, a person can not open 100 pages in a second...

Hi, we recently have installed PES Pro and I suposse that it's working fine. Basically I need to control the outbound spam.
I see that it has detected hundreds of sent mails identified as spam, but what about them? Those spam was blocked? marked? quarantined? Is there any report or log to see which users are sending spam?
The quarantine label seems that only show the inbound mails with virus or malware.

How to use SSL for mail insatead of STARTTLS?

Hi,

I have set an SSL for mail and done settings properly. I can use my mail from outside through SMTP. But as far as I can see, it forces to use STARTTLS. There is a web client I have to use which is not compatible with STARTTLS and it has to use SSL. I don't see a place to set it in Plesk. Do I have to do it manually and if so, how can I?

Plesk not detecting network interface

Hello again,

I have successfully installed Plesk on my physical machine, and can access the panel. I realized it did not automatically add an IP, so I did. However,
when I try to add one, the drop down menu is empty for the network interfaces.

I have tried clicking "Reread IP" with no luck.

Some info that might help:

Network type: WI-FI
Plesk version: Plesk Obsidian 18.0.27
OS: Windows Server 2019 Datacenter

I have attached the image of the drop down being open.

Multiple Servers & same Nameserver

I m wondering how other Pleskians manage to use same Nameserver for multiple Plesk Server?

I know there is the Multi Server Extension, but it seems outdated and not working on Obsidian.

There is an option to use two slave dns server, but if u point multiple server on same slave dns server, then u will get trouble with zones overwriting between the servers.

Any Solution?

I am running my server with Ubuntu 18.04. Since the Update to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.26 the incremental backup to my FTPS server fails with a message like this:

mail from a form not work

hi,
i'm in IONOS, i have a cloud web server with PLESK OBSIDIAN.

i asked to ionos to open port 25 for outgoing, it's done.

i created a domain, the website is a wordpress with contactform7. Note that the website (and the form) works fine on another web server, i moved it to the cloud webserver in ionos.

when i submit the form, i don't receive the message. nothing in the queue. the mail service is active on the domain, but no email address is created because mails are on another server.

Hi, although this is not causing us any harm (for the time being), has anyone come across the cause of this ?

It goes like this, we are using 'ImageMagick' with PHP 5.6.4 as its the only PHP version we have managed to get it to work.

However, whenever we do any updates to plugins for Wordpress via the Plesk control panel we always get weird messages like the one below

Cannot Access Mail Queue

while viewing my mail queue ( about 30 K emails ) , I tried sorting them by date then the page kept reloading forever .. now I think it is not necessary to sort the mail queue but I'm unable to access it , seems plesk saved the sort option somewhere and trying to sort every time I access the page .. I tried clearing cookies , temporary internet files and tried another browser with no luck , where can I find an option to cancel this sorting process ?

Backupmanager deleting the backup immediately after creating it

Hi there,
I use Plesk Onyx 17.8.11 Update #86 on Ubuntu 18.04 (1und1 Cloud server). The backup-manager does no longer work. It creates the backups successfully (locally or on a remote FTP) but immediately deletes all the backup files when finished (Locally or on the remote FTP) and returns a "Backup failed" message in the backend.

Backup happens locally to /var/lib/psa/dumps (Tried compressed and uncompressed)
Logfiles under /var/log/plesk/PMM/backup-<ID> (Attached to this post) does not...

Hello everyone,

I use a hosted dedicated server with Plesk Obsidian18.0.25 for clients and personal stuff and back it up every night on my local Synology DS918+ NAS sitting behind a PfSense 2.4.4 router/firewall. I used to back up the plesk server with the FTP protocol but not being very secured, I decided to upgrade the back up in purchasing the extension SFTP BACKUP.

Configuration is easy and Plesk backup module can see all backups on the local NAS. SO they communicate and it works.
